Review: IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream

Now I have been firm fan of medium to full coverage foundation for as long as I can remember.  Georgio Armani’s Luminous Silk foundation has been my go to for years. Don’t get me wrong, I still love it and it will always hold a special place in my heart. However, as a woman in my now *cough* early thirties, my skin has no doubt changed since in recent years and I feel I now need a little bit more bang for my buck from my foundation, particularly when wearing it on an every day basis.

For ages, I was on the hunt for something that gave me not only the coverage I needed but was equally kind to my skin. I am all about skincare these days. Enter the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream. I had been just itching to try this product for ages having heard fantastic things about it. Developed by plastic surgeons, it claims to give a flawless complexion with perfect coverage and protect your skin with SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen. It also claims to hydrate skin, smooth its texture, enhance skin brightness including camouflaging skin imperfections including dark spots. As if that isn’t enough, the cream is infused with an advanced anti-aging serum to diffuse the look of wrinkles and minimise pores. Where do I sign up?!

As it’s currently not available in Ireland, I ordered it from Beautylish.com and it took two weeks to get it, which is not bad considering it was coming all the way from California to Dublin. I ordered both the Light and Medium shades which were recommended as the most common shades and both so far seem to have matched up well for me. Medium suits well for use during the summer when I am a little bit more bronzed and I think the light shade will worker better for me in winter time so that one is on the back burner for now.

The consistency of the cream is quite thick but a lot goes a long way. Just one pump is all you will need and I apply with a damp beauty blender focusing my coverage on the centre of the face, around the nose and cheeks where most of my redness occurs and then blend out from there. It probably takes a little longer than the average base to apply but the effort pays off. The first time I tried it, I was very pleasantly surprised by the amount of coverage it had but it definitely needs a loose powder to set it and this will help it last longer as well.

The biggest plus for me about this product is the actual feel of it on my face. Despite it’s thick consistency, it is surprisingly light on my skin, something that I love and I think applying it with a damp beauty blender definitely helps with this. For me, there is nothing more off-putting than when I feel like a have a layer of makeup sitting on my skin all day, I just can’t wait to take it off and let my skin breath. Another benefit of this product is the fact it is simply so multifunctional. It is essentially a foundation, moisturiser, SPF and anti-aging product all in one and it feels pretty darn good applying something that fosters and nurtures your skin rather than limit or exhaust it. I have also been genuinely surprised with how long it stays on and rather than my skin feeling lifeless after I take it off, it feels quite the opposite, nourished and healthy.

I am a little late to the party when it comes to the benefit of a CC+ cream but am so damn happy I have discovered it and it’s firmly in my daily makeup routine. Have you tried this CC+ cream before? What were your thoughts?
